Two-way opening of drawers is desirable in many pieces of furniture.

The ability to open the same drawer on both sides of the kitchen island eliminates the need to go to the other side of the island for something from the drawer.

- the same drawer slides out from both sides of the cabinet

- each drawer box has two fronts (each of them is located on the opposite side of the cabinet body)

- fronts can be larger than a drawer box and can be placed on the cabinet body

- when the drawer is extended, the front on the opposite side of the cabinet remains stationary and covers the empty space

- after pulling out the drawer, the front on the opposite side of the cabinet can be automatically locked

- the drawer can be opened in the traditional way by pulling the handle

- it is possible to open the drawer without a handle from both sides after installing the push-to-open system

- two-way drawer guides are invisible even when the drawer is extended

- the drawer has a silent closing

- the system has a mechanism that closes the open drawer on the opposite side (there is no need to go to the other side of the furniture to close the open drawer)

Examples of applications in other fields

Banking

For safety reasons, the drawer can be opened on one side with an automatic locking of the front on the other side. The armored version has a flange which, when attempting to tilt the locked front, obstructs access to the inside of the drawer body, and cover plates that do not allow for deliberate damage or blocking of the guides.

Pharmacy

The drawer according to the invention allows for advantageous applications in hospital receptions, pharmacies and other workplaces where staff is exposed to contact with infected persons (e.g. Covid-19). The design of the drawer prevents the flow of gases or aerosols with microorganisms or viruses, which allows the dispensing of drugs, prescriptions, etc. without direct contact, when the staff room is isolated from the customer's room.

System - D.O.O. is based on several patent applications in Poland and the United Kingdom (P.433521; PCT/PL/2021/050025; GB 2217418.9; P.448657) offers many versions of bidirectional drawer runners with several types of extension. The mechanisms are of different widths, lengths, load and purpose. The runners can be used for all types of drawers, baskets, shelves, containers, etc. The mechanism slides on excellent ball bearing runners, allows the same drawer to be pulled out on both sides of the body, ensuring smooth extension and stability in every plane. The design allows for higher functionality, ergonomics and any aesthetics of the designed furniture.
