How our invention was made.

When arranging the rooms, apart from aesthetics, we paid a lot of attention to functionality and ergonomics. Most of the space required modified furniture and devices. While implementing difficult projects, clients expected innovative solutions.

A crowning example was the cabinet for a hospital table for people with back injuries who have to stay in bed, moving only to a sitting position.

Such a cabinet should have a very stable drawer in every plane, which is easy to open towards the lying patient and the other way for the staff or other people. Usually in such situations drawers are used, the fronts of which on both sides are permanently connected to the drawer chest ( principle of operation of a matchbox). When the drawer is pulled out to one side, there is an empty space left after the drawer. This open space is not advantageous for safety reasons: an ejecting drawer must be sure that on the other side another person has not put the object down or is not holding his hand there. Therefore, there was a requirement that the front which does not slide out with the box should remain in place, blocking access to the empty space left by the box. Another requirement was that the drawer extension mechanism should be hidden from the user for hygiene reasons. When using such a cabinet in hospitals, a person with poor dexterity may accidentally insert anything into the guides, catch on the visible elements of the extension mechanism or simply get dirty with the lubricants used in the guides.

Only today we can realize such an order, because at that time there were no such guides on the market of furniture fittings and accessories.

The need of our client gave rise to an idea for a new type of furniture slide, the above structure became the subject of an invention called "Drawer with bilaterally retractable drawer box" (international application no. PCT / PL2021 / 050025)

On the basis of the invention, it is possible to produce drawer sliding mechanisms in several utility versions.
